We had another great set of results at round 2 of the Surrey League this Saturday. On the men’s side we were led home by Jack Millar in 2nd and managed to have Saltires in 5 of the first 9 positions. As Jared said, “a dog walker in the park would have thought we won that race”, unfortunately it’s actually 10 runners to score in the mens race but we still came home in a very strong 3rd place which means we sit in 2nd in the league at the halfway stage. Clairo Hammett led the women home in 11th place as the team came 4th on the day, the women now sit in 6th in the league. Round 3 is on Saturday 10th January on Mitcham Common.
Up in Leeds we had athletes competing for their country at the British and Irish Masters International, Ifan Lloyd won the M65 category with a sprint finish leading Wales to team gold, Paul Newby was 4th in the M80 category representing England and Andrew Edge came 6th in the M55 race for Wales.
